tut was alive then deceased in the time before king khuffu's time when pyramids were created. tut was buried in an extravagant burial chamber in the Valley of the Kings, which's entrance was purposley blocked with boulders and rubble.
Also the egyptions though that by buriying the king in a more hidden place more people would not be able to steal from him. although when they found tut's tomb they had found that people found the tomb and was going through it to find gold. the only gold was hidden away in a safe room that no one knew about until two years after they started digging. the grave robbers didnt find what they wanted so left the big pile of belongings and was disappoited of what the had descovered.
So no one would steel from him
